About the Society
Who we are
The Oxford History Society brings together everyone who loves the past. From talks by leading historians to inter-college socials, we're a home for history students and history lovers alike.

The Clarendon Building · 1711–1715
Designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor and built to house the Oxford University Press, funded partly by profits from the Earl of Clarendon's 'History of the Rebellion'.
Academic events
Talks by leading historians, panel discussions, and conversations that take you beyond the syllabus — for undergraduates, postgraduates, and anyone curious about the past.
Social events
Inter-college pub quizzes, bar crawls, and dinners. A relaxed way to meet history students from every college across the University.
Welfare events
Prelims advice picnics, caffeinated study sessions, and a supportive community to help you through the busier weeks of term.
